About Center for Vaccine Research
Center for Vaccine research (CVR) is a new division housing a worldleading vaccine research and clinical program directed against major global infectious diseases and cancer. We focus on research and development of nextgeneration vaccines and diagnostic tools and we efficiently move products from research into clinical trials. Currently, CVR’s activities in clinical trials are expanding within both Tuberculosis and Chlamydia vaccines, as well as novel approaches in cancer immunotherapy using novel adjuvant systems. We collaborate closely with a large number of institutions.

CVR has more than 100 staff members divided between research, development and animal facilities. CVR has an active translational research strategy and has successfully licensed and commercialized programs through collaboration with the industry. CVR is funded by royalties and license fees as well as supported by Horizon2020, National Institutes of Health (NIH), In-novation fund Denmark, Independent research council.

About the position
We are looking for a MD with a strong interest in clinical research and translational immunolo-gy with a global health perspective. You will use clinical trials and other investigative methods as backbone to conduct research for improving our understanding of vaccine mechanisms and natural immunity in humans. You will interpret and publish results and provide strategic input and guidance to R&D relating our clinical trial portfolio. You will benefit from established clinical and research networks and we expect you to expand these with novel collaborations. You will interact with public health authorities and key external experts at a global level to provide expert medical opinion and medical leadership in the clinical development strategy. An important aspect will be the presentation of data at international meetings, for regulatory bodies and decision makers. As our new MD, you will be offered the highly ranked international training course in vaccinology (www.advac.org).

Job description

  • Involved in design and coordination of clinical trials and research projects primarily within vaccines
  • Studying pathogen mechanisms and natural immunity / vaccine immunity in human co-horts
  • In vitro immunological assays for the assessment of vaccine activity
  • Clinical data interpretation, preparation of scientific manuscripts and presentations at international meetings
  • Fundraising for clinical trials.

Required qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous experience with vaccine research and/or clinical trials is an advantage
  • Research experience within human immune assays
  • Dynamic, independent and goal orientated
  • Collaborative and interdisciplinary mindset
  • Medical Doctor with an ambition in pursuing a scientific career.

Terms of employment
The employment is permanent. Travelling activities are part of the job. Salary and appointment terms will be based on the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Medical Association (Overenskomst for Yngre Læger).
