Consultancy of Medicine combined with a clinical professorship in Multimorbidity and Chronic Illness A clinical position as consultant of Medicine at the Department of Multimorbidity and Chronic Illness at Slagelse Hospital is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Multimorbidity and Chronic Illness at the Department of Public Health Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position the Department of Multimorbidity and Chronic Illness, Slagelse Hospital wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Organisation
The Region of Zealand has a population of approximately 820.000 citizens who are under the care of four hospital units. The Department of Multimorbidity and Chronic Illness is located at Slagelse Hospital.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department
The establishment of the Department of Multimorbidity and Chronic Illness is expected to provide new knowledge about mechanisms for the development of multiple chronic diseases that can provide the basis for effective high quality medical treatment and high patient satisfaction. At the same time, the intention is to provide knowledge about a correspondingly appropriate organization of diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation in a cross-sectoral context.
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in Multimorbidity and chronic illnesses, Slagelse Hospital wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University og Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.
Qualifications
The applicant must be a specialist in Medicine and must have a documented, broad-ranging medical educational background.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Slagelse Hospital.

Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Medicine 2. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of Medicine 2. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the director of Slagelse Hospital.
